**Consumer Alert** Beware of online lead generating companies. We have received several phone calls from customers who think they sent us an estimate request, only to find out they fell victim to a “lead generation” company. These companies lure interested buyers away from legitimate business websites by purchasing a keyword-rich domain name and then creating duplicate websites with very similar domain names. They then purchase keywords that will send traffic to these "clone" web sites (not the web site of the company you intended to go to). Example: You Google a siding and window company name and all of a sudden you are overwhelmed by images, and web addresses for many different domains, all very similar to the company you are looking for. You (our customer) clicks on the “clone site”, and are prompted to fill out a form, to request your estimate. All the while, you assume it is the siding and window company you are wanting, but in reality, you just unknowingly gave your information to a company who then sells your contact information to the highest bidding company. You, our customer, get a phone call from a person saying they received your estimate request, and you assume it is the company you’ve seen advertised, heard great things about, or were referred to. Unfortunately, it is not, but you unknowingly, proceed with the process. Here’s where things go bad, fast. Typically, companies that have to “buy leads” have awful reputations and some of the worst quality work. They are hurting for business because the horrible customer service, poor quality and their reputation has caught up to them. It is a “back door” way into your home and they are tricking you to be allowed in your home. The lead generation company doesn’t care what type of company buys your information, because they get paid regardless. A reputable company, who has built a reputation on quality and customer service doesn’t have to purchase leads. They reach out to their customers every single day with authentic and sincere marketing efforts that can and will back up. The last thing we want is for any more of our customers to fall victim to this kind of “false advertising.” Please make sure you are on WilsonsSiding.com before you fill out an estimate request, or when in doubt, simply call us. Most lead generating companies will not offer phone numbers on their forms because there is NO ONE there who can answer your questions. This isn't just a problem in the siding and window industry, so always double check and make sure you are on the correct web site for the company you want to request information from.
