Craftsmanship at Wilson's

When we think of the craftsman, images of a bearded man clad in a leather apron and rolled-up sleeves, toiling away in his workshop producing beautiful and useful items comes to mind. You may think of masons, potters, master leather toolers and carpenters. Back many years ago, even the work of a father was considered a craft of sorts that required the same care and attention to detail as that of those mentioned above. There was a time when people believed that the values and character of craftsmanship were things all should seek to live by. In so doing, a man could achieve excellence, and thus experience a flourishing life.

Regardless of the type of craft, they all shared a core belief; “Make every product better than it’s ever been done before. Make the parts you cannot see as well as the parts you can see. Use only the best materials, even for the most everyday items. Give the same attention to the smallest detail as you do to the largest. Design every item you make to last forever.” Over time, industrialization and manufacturing became more prevalent and the ideal of craftsmanship began to fade. This is such a shame, for the principles of craftsmanship truly should apply to every man, whether he makes furniture works with leather, brick or installs vinyl siding and windows.

However, the art of craftsmanship is very much alive and thriving at Wilson’s Home Improvement. Paul and Sandy knew that to have the type of business they wanted, they couldn't just hire installers; they would employ true craftsmen. These men would have to possess extensive knowledge in all things vinyl as well as take pride in their work. They would demand excellence of themselves and those they work with and understand that the work they do is a “signature” of who they are.  There is so much skill involved in the installation of vinyl siding and windows. They must be detail oriented because being off an inch or even a quarter of an inch can lead to disaster. Hence, “measure twice, cut once” is a motto for Wilson’s craftsmen! This is one of the simplest and most memorable maxims of craftsmen, although most companies don’t put any emphasis on this at all. Their goal is to maximize profits and get it done FASTER. Cutting corners, rigging things to “appear” like quality is standard practice in most companies. In addition to speed, it is more important to them to feel good about our work than to actually do good work. Wilson’s Home Improvement wants BOTH and we believe the only way to feel good about the work we do is to do EXCELLENT work. Deliver on every promise we make to the homeowner and to make sure that our customer is 100% satisfied.

We consider our installers to be masters in the art of vinyl siding and window installation. If we didn't believe that, we couldn't say that we are “The Best of the Best for Less”! The true difference at Wilson’s Home Improvement is in our people. They not only believe in our vision, but they strive to deliver it to our customers on every single job. When you are making an investment in your home that will increase the value of your home, shouldn't you trust it to true craftsmen? Call Wilson’s Home Improvement today and experience the reasons why we have been number 1 in the vinyl siding and window industry for over 10 years.
